PAVEL, Jr., Richard G. “Dick”
of Hamburg, NY passed peacefully on May 17, 2021. Beloved husband for 57 years of Donna and devoted father to Laura (Robert) Kaiser, Christine Lotocki, and Deborah Koester. Devoted and beloved grandfather to Emily, Chelsea, Ryan, Sean, Hollie, Joshua, Justin and Joey. Dear brother of Bonnie (Carmen) Scime, James (Joanne) Pavel, Judith (the late Michael) Klarowski, Donald (Alice) Pavel, and the late Sandra Pavel. Son of the late Richard and Edna Pavel of Buffalo, NY. Dick was devoted to providing and caring for his family and along with Donna raised a wonderful loving one, he will be greatly missed. Dick retired from the Ford Stamping Plant in 1999 after 35 years of dedicated work. Dick was an avid league bowler, individually and with Donna, and he achieved the perfect game of 300 in 2013. He taught and coached his daughters to become great bowlers, and for several years coached local youth bowlers. He was also an avid golfer, never satisfied and always trying to improve his game, and enjoyed hunting for others lost golf balls. Dick was also known to throw a good horseshoe, participating in league play. Later in life, Dick and Donna enjoyed regularly visiting various casinos, claiming they always broke even or were ahead of the casino. His family recently enjoyed celebrating his 75th birthday with him in Las Vegas. His life revolved around his loving wife and family.
His family will be present for visitation on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 1-4PM at the (Hamburg Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC. 5453 Southwestern Blvd. (corner of Rogers Rd. 646-5555) where a Memorial Service will follow at 4PM, with Pastor Emeritus Paul Mertzlufft, of All Saints Lutheran Church presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may made to Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo (www.hospicebuffalo.com) and would be greatly appreciated.
